Five HQ Rental Software alternatives to compare are RENTALL, Coastr, Carz, Rental Car Manager and Easy Rent Pro. Every fact about another company on this page links to that company’s own site and says when we read it. Where a company does not publish something, we say so.

Why operators compare HQ Rental Software with other systems

HQ Rental Software prints its prices, which Rental Car Manager, RENTALL, Coastr and Loopit do not, and its own site says it is trusted by 1,250+ operators in 85+ countries. It handles online reservations, contracts, channel sync with Expedia, Kayak and Turo, and long-term rentals with payment schedules.

Onboarding adds a one-off US$550 on Basic and US$1,500 on Professional. Toll management and API access appear only from the US$250 Professional plan, and the customer login portal from Standard. The plan is set by fleet size, so moving from 10 to 11 vehicles moves you up a tier.

Its homepage and pricing page do not mention Australia, weekly billing, Square or PayTo. For an Australian fleet on weekly hire, that is the gap to test in the free trial.

Five HQ Rental Software alternatives

Ordered by how many times each name appeared in 51 AI answers about rental software on 18 October 2026, with Easy Rent Pro, which was not in that count, at the end. Visibility is all the order measures. Each entry says what it changes compared with HQ.

  1. 1. RENTALL

Fits when: You run a larger, mixed fleet and would trade a public rate card for a quote shaped around your setup. Its plans include credit card processing from the entry tier.

    • A minimum fleet of 10 vehicles and a tailor-made quote instead of listed prices. (source, read June 2026 (archived copy))
    • Card processing is part of the Essential plan and above. (source, read June 2026 (archived copy))
    • Rental types include car, RV, car sharing, machinery and dealership loaners. (source, read June 2026 (archived copy))
  2. 2. Coastr

Fits when: HQ’s onboarding fee is what puts you off. Coastr charges no setup fee and includes onboarding, data migration support and training in the plan.

    • No setup fee; onboarding, data migration support and monthly training workshops are included. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • A 14-day trial with no credit card. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • Its pricing page shows plan tiers without prices; volume discounts apply as the fleet grows. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • Offices in Edinburgh, London and Bengaluru. (source, read 20 October 2026)
  3. 3. Carz

Fits when: You are in Australia, rent mostly by the week, and do not want features split across tiers. Carz has no setup fee and one price per rented car, so a fleet with 12 cars on rent pays for 12, whatever the fleet size.

    • AUD $7 per rented car per month, ex GST. Nothing for cars in the yard, billing capped at AUD $1,400 a month ex GST (200 rented cars without GPS), no setup fee, cancel any month.
    • Every module comes in the one price, and switching one off does not change the bill.
    • PayTo and Square sit alongside Stripe for weekly rent.
    • Tolls and fines are charged to the card on file, evidence attached.
    • Not a fit: Carz does not sync with Expedia, Kayak or Turo. A daily-hire operator selling through those channels is better served by HQ.
  4. 4. Rental Car Manager

Fits when: You want no implementation cost and you take bookings through travel agents, from a vendor whose sale to Jonas Software was announced from Brisbane. You will need to ask for a price.

    • States zero implementation costs. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • Part of Jonas Software since December 2023, announced from Brisbane. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • Integrates with Rentalcars.com and Motorhome Republic. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • No price on its site. (source, read 20 October 2026)
  5. 5. Easy Rent Pro

Fits when: Monthly fees are the problem. It charges one payment a year, with no monthly software fee, sized by fleet.

    • Small is US$299.99 a year for up to 25 vehicles, Medium US$399.99 for up to 100 and Large US$499.99 for 100 or more. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • No monthly fee; payment processing costs depend on the third-party provider. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • A 14-day trial; assisted onboarding is quoted separately. (source, read 20 October 2026)
    • A cloud-based car rental management system from Sunset Solutions N.V. (source, read 20 October 2026)
