About

Built where the cars actually are.

Carz started inside a working Australian rental operation — a workshop that doubles as a rental desk, leasing cars weekly to gig drivers. The software exists because the spreadsheet stopped scaling.

Straight answers

What is Carz?

Carz is car rental software for operators who lease vehicles weekly to gig-economy drivers — rideshare and delivery. It covers the booking, the signed contract, the deposit, the weekly charge and its recovery, the workshop costs and the investor payout: one flow per vehicle.

It is deployed per operator — your own instance, your own database, your own branding, with the modules you don't use switched off.

Who builds Carz?

A small product-and-engineering team co-founded by Cristobal Galilea, which answers its own support email.

The product is built alongside a founding operator in Brisbane — a workshop that doubles as a rental desk — and every feature runs on that real fleet before it ships to anyone else.

Where did Carz come from?

From that same Australian rental operation, when the spreadsheet running it stopped scaling.

The problems it was built to close are unglamorous: a weekly charge that fails silently, a renewal nobody chased, a toll never recovered, an investor asking for numbers that live in four spreadsheets.

Who is Carz not for?

Daily airport-counter hire, and large multi-location enterprises. If you rent by the day across several branches, or you need telematics and dynamic pricing at scale, a platform like Loopit, HQ Rental Software or Rental Car Manager fits better — our comparison pages say so one by one.

Carz earns its place when the same renter pays you every week for months. That is where the weekly charge, the arrears recovery and the investor split matter more than the length of a feature list.

01 / The story

Most fleet software is built for daily rental counters at airports. The operators we serve run a different business: weekly rentals to rideshare and delivery drivers, cars bought with investor capital, a workshop out back, and a team of two or three people doing everything.

For that business, the real problems are unglamorous: a weekly charge that fails silently, a renewal nobody chased, a toll that never got recovered, an investor asking for numbers that live in four spreadsheets. Carz was built alongside a founding operator in Brisbane to close exactly those leaks — booking to contract to weekly charge to payout, one flow per vehicle.

Today Carz runs as a single platform deployed per operator: your own instance, your own database, your own branding, with the modules you don't use switched off. We're a small product-and-engineering team, and we answer our own support email.

02 / What we believe

Four principles the product is built on.

01

Software shouldn't tax your growth

Platforms that take a percentage of your billing punish you for succeeding. Carz is flat: $5 per car, capped at $700 a month — and you can own it outright.

02

Money software must be paranoid

Payment status only ever comes from the provider. Refunds need evidence. Every action records who did it. Boring discipline is what makes the numbers trustworthy.

03

Built with operators, not for them

Every feature ships onto a real fleet before it ships to you. If it doesn't survive a Brisbane rental desk on a Monday morning, it doesn't ship.

04

The future of operations is agents

Structured data, an internal tool layer and guardrails — so AI agents can run the repetitive work while your team keeps the judgment calls.

Cristobal Galilea

Co-founder

Cristobal builds Carz alongside the operators who use it, and writes the operator playbook — practical guides on payments, collections, investors and fleet economics. Behind him is a small engineering team shipping to real fleets every week.
