Terms of Service
What you agree to when you use the Carz platform or this website — written to be read, not skimmed past.
Last updated 10 July 2026
1. What Carz is
Carz is a fleet operating system for car-rental operators: bookings, contracts, deposits, recurring payments, collections, workshop records, sales and investor reporting. Each operator runs on their own dedicated deployment of the platform, configured to their business.
2. Your account
Operator accounts are created for your team by Carz during onboarding. You are responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for the actions taken under your users' accounts. Role-based access (admin, workshop, viewer) is available — assign the least access each person needs.
3. Pricing
- Subscription: USD $5 per vehicle per month, capped at USD $700 per month regardless of fleet size.
- Lifetime licence: optionally, a one-time USD $10,000 licence plus USD $150 per month for hosting and maintenance.
- Implementation: onboarding and setup are scoped and quoted up front.
- Custom development: USD $70 per development hour, quoted before work starts. Most requests ship in under two weeks.
Prices exclude payment-provider fees (Stripe, Square), which are charged by the provider on your own account. Price changes never apply retroactively and are notified in advance.
4. Your data is yours
Everything you and your team enter into your deployment — vehicles, clients, bookings, payments, documents — belongs to you. We use it only to operate the service for you. If you leave, we provide an export of your data and then delete our copy after a reasonable handover window.
5. Payments are processed by providers
Card and PayTo payments are processed by Stripe or Square under your own merchant account and their terms. Carz never stores card numbers; payment outcomes are recorded from the provider's confirmation. Refunds and chargebacks follow the provider's rules.
6. Acceptable use
Use the platform lawfully: don't use it to break Australian Consumer Law or debt-collection rules, to store content you have no right to hold, or to attempt to access another operator's deployment. We may suspend access that puts the platform or other customers at risk, and we'll tell you why.
7. Availability and support
We aim to keep your deployment available around the clock and to schedule maintenance outside your business hours where possible. Support is provided directly by the team that builds the product — reach us at cris@carz.lat.
8. Liability
The platform is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Termination
You can stop using the service at the end of any billing period. On termination we provide your data export (section 4). We may terminate for material breach with notice and an opportunity to remedy where remediable.
10. Changes
When these terms change, we update the date at the top of this page and notify operators of material changes by email before they take effect.
This page is a plain-language summary published for transparency. Where an operator has a signed agreement with Carz, that agreement prevails over anything written here. Questions? cris@carz.lat
